Kvareli is a town in northeastern in Kakheti Province, Georgia. Located in the Alazani Valley, near the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, it was the birthplace of Georgian author Ilia Chavchavadze, The area is in the center of the Kakheti wine-producing region, and the town itself is known for its Kindzmarauli wine, a semisweet red variety.

Nestled at the foot of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, Lagodekhi lies in the heart of Georgian wine country. Lagodekhi is renowned for its natural beauty, nearby waterfalls and most notably the Lagodekhi Nature Reserve, established in 1912 and first noted by Polish botanist Ludwik MÅ‚okosiewicz for having a large variety of tree species. Three kilometers east of the town is the border crossing with Azerbaijan'sBalakan Province.

Take a Day to Gremi and Nekresi

Gremi-Nekresi, Kakheti Region, Georgia

Gremi was the capital of the Kingdom of Kakheti in the 16th and 17th centuries. Founded by Levan of Kakheti, it functioned as a lively trading town on the Silk Road and royal residence until being razed to the ground by the armies of Shah Abbas I of Persia in 1615. Nekresi - The town was established by king Pharnajom (around 2nd-1st centuries BC). In the 4th century AD, king Thrdat built a church in this place. This church became a refuge to one of the Assyrian fathers, Abibus, in the late 6th century.
